The first thing Jeff does with his amp is to turn the bass right down, and then does minor adjustments to the treble, mid and presence. Nobody can deny that Jeff Beck has one of the best tones in guitar, alot of it is due to his control over the guitar, such as with tone and volume manipulation, and the dynamics he gets by picking with his thumb and fingers.
